How we’re celebrating Christmas this year

How we’re celebrating Christmas this year

This year, businesses have had to come up with new ways to celebrate Christmas with their teams. To find ideas and inspiration, it’s always useful to see what other businesses are doing. So, we thought we’d give you an insight as to how we’re getting into the festive spirit and, importantly, saying thank you to our amazing team this year.

1. Snack delivery

Every year, during the lead up to Christmas, our HR Director Claire Newell puts out a fantastic assortment of tasty treats and snacks around different areas of the office for everyone to enjoy. It’s one of the things we all look forward to as December comes around.

With the majority of our team working from home this year, we had to do something a little different to ensure our team didn’t miss out. So instead, we sent packages to everyone that contained a range of festive snacks including mince pies, chocolate, crisps and more.

2. Christmas hampers

At the end of every year, we like to treat our people to a special Christmas hamper to say thank you for all their hard work and dedication. While the hampers we are different every year, our team can usually expect it to include some tasty food, drinks and other fun surprises. This year, luckily, we’ve still been able to deliver hampers so everyone in our business can enjoy them as we countdown to Christmas.

3. Reward points

To say thank you to our people and recognise what has been a very challenging year, we’ve awarded them with a generous amount of reward points. These have been added to everyone’s accounts on our internal hub, so they can either spend them or save them for a later date.

Reward points are great because they give individuals the opportunity to choose their own rewards which means it’s more relevant and meaningful to them. Through our hub, our team can choose from a reward catalogue of over 25,000 products and experiences. So, they’ll be sure to find something they’ll love!

4. Virtual huddle

While we can’t have our Christmas party this year, we still wanted to get everyone together to have some fun and recognise everyone’s hard work in 2020. We’ve been doing virtual huddles throughout the year to deliver important business updates, enjoy some fun activities and stay connected, so we’re going to do an extra special huddle in the new year. We haven’t revealed the agenda for the huddle to our team as we want to keep it a surprise – all they know so far is that we’ll be delivering awards and taking part in an exciting activity.

What is your business doing to celebrate Christmas and the end of the year?

It’s so important for businesses to show their appreciation of their teams year-round, but the end of the year is a great opportunity to reflect and celebrate your people. Saying thank you at these important moments in the year will show your people that they’re valued and contribute to their engagement with your business.
