People Spotlight – Meet Account Manager, Odeta Mazeikaite
The peoplevalue team is made up of friendly and professional individuals who work together to help our business grow every day. In this blog series, we’re taking a closer look at some of the names and faces behind our brand. Today, we’re saying hello to Odeta Mazeikaite, one of our Account Managers.
Introducing Odeta Mazeikaite, Account Manager
Odeta joined the peoplevalue team around 7 months ago in November 2021. She initially joined our Customer Services team during the busy Christmas months to develop her understanding of the business, before transitioning into Account Management where she now looks after a selection of our clients.
‘Spending a few months in the Customer Service Department has enormously helped with my transition into Account Management. I’d recommend this procedure to others who are joining new companies as you get a great understanding of the business, as well as interact and communicate with customers and different teams within the business.’
When she’s not working, Odeta likes to read books and drink LOTS of coffee as well as travel to new places, experience new things and meet new people. She also really enjoys gardening, although she doesn’t always get the opportunity to do it.
What does a typical day look like for you?
“On a typical day, I’ll log on to my computer and sift through my emails. I usually normalise working from oldest to newest to be fair and consistent, however, if I know I have lots on and the inbox is filling up, I sift through and prioritise. On days when I have client calls, I’ll have looked through my previous meeting notes with them to ensure all previous actions have been done or check the status of any outstanding actions so I am prepared for the calls and any questions that may arise. Prior to the meetings, I like to come prepared and create an agenda and ensure any questions, queries or business topics are noted for discussion.
Following any meeting, I like to do a debrief by sharing my notes with the client, arranging tasks to be scheduled and updating any trackers or files I have, to keep everything organised and filed. If I don’t have any client calls, I would proceed by answering emails, actioning them, chasing up previous emails and scheduled tasks as well as also analysing my clients’ performances and how I can improve or help in them achieving any goals they have set.”
How do you like to start your working day?
“I like to start my day by ensuring my workspace is clear and clutter-free, followed by a cup of coffee. I’ll use this time whilst enjoying my hot drink to scroll through social media before engrossing in my work for the day.”
How did you get into your current job role?
“My previous roles were very customer orientated. Prior to working for peoplevalue I worked as a supervisor in a BP petrol station which I thoroughly enjoyed as the role was varied in both skills and activities. I enjoyed working with different people and thoroughly getting to know my regular customers, contractors, and partners whom I developed good relationships with and still keep in touch with to this day.
After receiving my business and management degree, I wanted to put that to use by exercising the knowledge and skills I learned throughout my previous employment. I’m extremely excited to have joined peoplevalue and to see the company and myself grow here. I’m eager to learn lots from everyone within the business and have many aspirations I wish to achieve to ensure I am successful not just within my role but within the company.”
What is your favourite thing about working at peoplevalue?
“My favourite thing about working for peoplevalue is, ironically, that I feel valued as an employee – as the name speaks for itself. I feel that not just mine, but everyone’s ideas are valued and considered. The company does so many things that make working fun. From the people we have in our teams, to our sociable break times, we do things that unite us as a company and team which makes it enjoyable.”
What one word would you use to describe peoplevalue’s culture?
“Rewarding.”
What do you most enjoy about your job?
“Interacting with clients and sometimes even with their employees. It’s really rewarding being able to see how happy a client is when you are able to help them out last minute or perhaps do something that’s above and beyond their expectations.”
What is your favourite quote?
“No amount of guilt can change the past, and no amount of anxiety can change the future.
It reminds me not to dwell too much on the past or let that affect my current self, but to learn from it. Also, to accept things I have no control over and not stress or ruin myself over it.”
What is your favourite memory from working at peoplevalue so far?
“Going to our mymemberperks event in April. The event was great and afterwards, the peoplevalue team went out for some drinks. It was a good night to catch up and get to know everyone better.”
Are there any projects/ tasks you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of?
“As I haven’t been with the business for too long, nothing, in particular, comes to mind, although there are lots of projects in the pipeline that are coming up that I’m excited to see through.”
