People Spotlight: Meet Finance Team Leader, Bradley Boodell

Introducing Bradley Boodell, Finance Team Leader
Brad joined the peoplevalue team in May 2018, developing from Finance and Operations Assistant to Finance Team Leader in November 2019, as the business grew and needed the two teams to be more specialised. He’s a key player in our business, working closely with the wider Finance and Operations teams to ensure various elements and functions of the business run smoothly.
When he’s not working, Brad’s main hobbies include playing as much football as possible, gaming after work, going out for drinks and socialising with mates at the weekend. Let’s find out more!
What does a typical day look like for you?
At the moment it’s really a bit of everything and anything that demands my attention, there’s always something that seems important/urgent! I cover a whole host of jobs and tasks which can pull me into month-end work, audit work and daily tasks to ensure the operations team can function with as little interruption as possible.
How do you like to start your working day?
With a ‘good morning’ to the girls next door and a coffee.
How did you get into your current job role?
Claire (our former Finance and Operations Director) got in touch with me through her son (one of my oldest mates) to say that there was a job opening here. I was fed up with working at the University at the time, the travel to/from town every day was so frustrating, finding something 30 seconds down the road suited me well.
I then developed from Finance & Operations Assistant to Finance Team Leader as the business grew and needed the two teams to be more specialised.
What is your favourite thing about working at peoplevalue?
How close it is to home!
What one word would you use to describe peoplevalue’s culture?
Nurturing
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I enjoy getting to work with people I’m friends with. It motivates me to work harder so that I can make their lives easier.
What is your favourite quote?
‘Are you picking up what I’m putting down?’
What is your favourite memory from working at peoplevalue so far?
The spontaneous game of chubby bunnies with Josh and Jonchuu, unsurprisingly they both had bigger mouths than me… I’m sure there are videos of it somewhere.
Are there any projects/tasks you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of?
I think the main one would be the development of the finance function. We are so much more organised now than when I first started.
